AVEVA provides solutions to support the complete lifecycle of an asset, from its inception, through design, construction, operation, and then continuing maintenance.

The merger of AVEVA and Schneider Electric Software in 2018 brought together the two sides of the business. AVEVA has traditionally offered innovative products on the engineering and design side. Schneider Electric Software supplied ground-breaking products in asset operations and simulations.

“Uniting these capabilities under one roof provides a unique platform that our partners can use to chart their path to Industry 4.0,” says Quentin Smith, Business Development, AVEVA. With 4,500 employees worldwide, AVEVA experienced rapid growth over the past few years with revenues surpassing $1 billion last year.

“The merger with Schneider software brought world-class simulation tools used in the front-end process design of capital projects: Pro/II, DynSim, ROMeo, and SimCentral. This expands our integrated engineering and design suite,” explains Greg Pada, Digital Acceleration Consultant, AVEVA. “We now have simulation activities digitally integrated into our engineering software, which increases transparency and availability. We can add data to the simulation and continually evaluate whether or not a process will work. On the operations side, we have the asset performance management team that looks at the overall asset lifecycle. Complementing this is our unified operations team which oversees plant and asset operations.

“With both the simulation and the engineering data being delivered in a data-centric format, we can start looking at how we integrate across all our tools. This eases the handovers between Engineering/Construction and Operations.

“With unified operations, operators have all the information they need to make informed decisions quickly,” Smith says. “Being able to use that information in areas like advanced work packaging and predictive maintenance and central asset information management—and being able to find data in seconds instead of hours or days—will help operators to make sound decisions.”

On the exhibit floor, AVEVA will demonstrate an operator training simulation which helps train operators in a consistent manner and at a higher proficiency.

AVEVA is sponsoring several seminars. The first is titled “Digital Transformation of Work Enabled by Mobile and Workflow Extensions.”

AVEVA equips your mobile workforce with details such as operations and maintenance procedures, equipment diagrams, and operating status in the palm of their hands for better decision making.

“Our focus is the connected worker—making sure that everyone at a facility is connected to the right information, and can find that data in order to do their jobs,” says Arijeet Majumdar, Senior Manager, Technical Solutions, AVEVA. “We want an operator to be able to begin an activity on a desktop and complete it on a mobile device. We simplify things for the people who spend most of their time on the site or the shop floor. They can use the tool to set up something for their team and get the work done at their desk or on a mobile device.”

A second seminar, “How to Create A Digital Strategy to Optimize the Value Chain,” will be led by Fernanda Martins, Global Marketing Manager Chemicals, AVEVA, and Erica Fernandez, Global Marketing Manager Unified Supply Chain, AVEVA. Martins will discuss how to create a unified strategy that ties together all aspects of the value chain, including raw materials, recording how much is recovered, and measuring how much of the circular economy is captured.

AVEVA’s Unified Operations Center (UOC) provides real-time data visualization across the plant/enterprise and enables organizations to gain insights, unlock efficiencies, and identify new pathways to optimize performance.

Coral Siminovich, Product Development Manager at AVEVA, will lead a third seminar, “Unified Learning: An essential component of any operational excellence strategy.” She will discuss how simulators and XR technology can be integrated into a comprehensive unified learning framework, and how it can improve safety and operational performance at the enterprise level.
